The management of Cantagali Limited has replaced a damaged electricity pole on Turnbull Road, Ikoyi which, prior to its replacement, had almost collapsed and was only being held in place by a concrete slab designed to act as a temporary brace. The electricity pole began to show signs of collapse after a truck carrying a crane caused havoc by destroying overhead electric cables attached to the pole. In the process, some buildings were cut off from power for almost two days.

The replacement exercise was carried out by officials of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC). The managing director of Cantagali Limited, Mr. Basheer Tosin Ashafa, who coordinated the exercise, expressed his feelings by re-asserting the company’s commitment to promoting a safe, sustainable living and work environment for its stakeholders and neighbours.

He said, “As a real estate and facility management company, and like every corporate entity should, we believe that we have a role to play in the larger society by being socially responsible and sensitive to our surroundings. We at Cantagali Limited have taken it upon ourselves to replace and restore the affected electricity supply pole to its ideal position. We should not wait for a disaster to happen or the worst case scenario before doing what is right. Cantagali Limited is pleased that there is no immediate health and safety risk from power poles falling over.”
